Imagine. The night is cold, crisp, and clear. Stars are scattered across the sky. All of a sudden you see a thin veil of green wisp across the darkness growing brighter and larger. Within minutes the sky ripples with vibrant greens, pinks, and violets. This year Uniquely Northwest is excited to showcase our newest incentive programs in Alaska and Canada centered on viewing nature’s best phenomenon: The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada
Yellowknife has been named one of the best places to view the Aurora Borealis for years because of its location directly under the Aurora Oval. The best ways to view the Aurora include snowmobiling to a remote area, the only designed sky-deck observatory in the Arctic and in a warm, wood stove heated private teepee! The group also experiences Aboriginal and Native tradition teachings and demonstrations, mushing your own dog sled team, snowshoeing, floatplane sightseeing tours, and ice fishing! >>Click here to learn more
Fairbanks, Alaska, USA
Fairbanks is known as the “gateway to the Arctic” with history dating back to the 1800s gold rush! Enjoy the Aurora in a remote lodge hosted by real Bush Alaskans (an Eskimo, naturalist and a Master Guide) and taking a snow coach up to a heated yurt where we enjoy the Aurora and hot beverages. During your time in Alaska, the group snowmobiles, mushes their own dog team, and tours the world’s largest year-round ice museum at Chena Hot Springs! Make sure to also plan your incentive during the World Ice Art Championship for a VIP tour and dog sledding. Get the best view of the Arctic on a flightseeing tour and walking with Alaska’s most treasured wildlife, reindeer! >>Click here to learn more
