Awards Season is on in Hollywood! In the space of just a few weeks in January and February, the Los Angeles area plays host to award shows such as the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Golden Globes, filling the already-famed city with nights of a thousand stars. One of the coolest things about hosting a high-end incentive program in Los Angeles is being able to experience the glitz and glam of Hollywood just as the celebrities do.
Start by choosing a posh hotel that plays host to the stars and puts you near the center of the action. The iconic Beverly Hills Hotel sits right on Sunset Boulevard and has been hosting A-list celebrities since 1912 – the on-site Polo Lounge is famous in its own rite, and a great place to enjoy a healthy lunch or a cocktail to re-cap the day’s adventures while rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. The Sunset Tower has a long history of housing celebrities, such as Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra, but don’t think of this stately old classic as outdated – it’s Tower Bar was used for the Golden Globes after-party just a couple of weeks ago. And the fourth floor pool at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel is reportedly a great place to spot celebs while catching some sun.
There’s no shortage of grand scale dining options in Los Angeles for a special celebratory meal as part of a star-studded incentive trip. Chef Wolfgang Puck’s Spago is one of the most famous restaurants in the world, and in addition to an exclusive private dining room, often hosts celebrities for dinner in the main dining area as well. The stylish BOA Steakhouse was the site of Independent Spirit Awards Brunch in recent weeks, and legendary Cecconi’s is transformed each year to host Audi’s Golden Globes pre-party. And of course, real red carpets and even paparazzi can be hired to add to the feel of a Hollywood-themed gala dinner or event.
During Awards Season, stars are showered with luxe gift bags as part of the celebrations. Mimicking this tradition is a great way to welcome VIP guests on an incentive program too! Gift bags for award nominees are often valued at several thousand dollars, and are filled with items such as expensive jewelry, clothing and shoes, cosmetics, and even invitations to stay at luxury resorts. No matter the budget, it’s always a fun treat for us to put together a thoughtful gift bag for incentive guests for an extra special touch.
